The Future of Drug Policy
Joining coroner, health, policing and customs data to project where the crisis goes under different policy mixes.
Synthetic opioids have turned drug policy into a live experiment: decriminalisation, safer supply, treatment-first models and enforcement-led approaches are all running at once in different jurisdictions. The supply changes faster than any of them, and the evidence sits in coroner, health, policing and customs systems that do not talk to each other. This study joins them into one picture to project where the crisis goes under different policy mixes, and which interventions move outcomes rather than headlines.
- 01The data joined, with sources and lineage
- 02The model, its assumptions and its evaluation
- 03Findings with the evidence behind each one
- 04Recommendations and the smallest interventions that move the outcome
- 05Method notes so the study can be re-run in another jurisdiction
